Allison and Jeremiah's wedding at the historic and iconic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado was elegant and intimate. I had been looking forward to their wedding for MONTHS: winter snowy romance in the mountains, Christmas charm, and the vintage mystique of the hotel itself. And they hold a special place in my heart being family to a good friend of mine and amazing event and business director at Platte River Fort in Greeley. I couldn't wait to meet their families and document the special day in style!
Allison and Jeremiah shared their first date back in spring of 2016. They had a dinner date at Yak and Yeti, and Allison even called in sick to work the following date so that their first date could continue. Soon, these two were engaged and planning a wedding! They chose the Stanley Hotel for their wedding for a variety of reasons: winter wonderland in the mountains (duh!) and their friends and family visiting could make an extended weekend out of the wedding and enjoy Estes Park and a little taste of Colorado!
When asked her favorite thing about Jeremiah, Allison's response: "My favorite thing about Jeremiah is that he has a huge heart." Jeremiah loves that Allison and he share the same beliefs and values. If I had to choose three words to sum up these two, it would be gracious, fun-loving, and motivated.
As their wedding day arrived, so did the wind. Of course, we were all crossing our fingers for a fresh, light snowy day but this year, Colorado has been just plain confused. We STILL (middle of January now!) haven't really had much winter. It's been dry with temperatures in the 40s-60s and sunny! As we drove up the canyon to Estes Park, my heart sunk just a little as wind gusts pelted the car and smashed into the trees around us. If there's one type of weather that I despise, it's wind. But, as every wedding has it's own unique challenges, I put on my big girl pants to embrace the conditions.
We arrived to the beautiful hotel, elegantly decorated for Christmas and found a very happy, smiling Allison and a beaming Jeremiah. The air around them and their families was one of anticipation and overwhelming joy. After sharing their First Look together, we headed outside for their bride & groom photos with the incredible mountain views. And we were blessed with a 15 minute window of NO WIND. It was spectacular!
These two tied the knot in the beautiful Music Room and partied their booties off surrounded by their closest people. Allison's favorite wedding memory is seeing Jeremiah for the first time, visiting with their guests, and of course the dance floor!
THEIR ADVICE TO FUTURE BRIDES AND GROOMS: "Have a first look and take the bulk of photos before the ceremony. We were also happy that we made the rounds to each table to visit with our guests."
