I met April a month ago for drinks and wedding chat, and it was like meeting an old friend. She's sweet, bubbly, passionate, and excited about her wedding. When we first communicated over email, her and Cameron were having a bit of a challenge finding the perfect Colorado mountain venue for their wedding next fall, but eventually they nailed down a date and location. Turns out, Purgatory Resort near Durango had everything they dreamed of including ridiculously beautiful mountaintop views. I can't wait to share in their joy next September!
In the meantime, we met up at Red Rocks Park for engagement photos. When we chose a date for the session, I checked the Red Rocks concert calendar and all was clear. We planned to meet just before sunset to enjoy the location these two got engaged. April even emailed me a few days prior, asking if it would be possible to include their 20-year-old cat, Joe, in some photos. As a fellow kitteh mom, I said YES YES YES! They worked out some logistics to have April's sister bring Joe to Red Rocks and take him home. We were all set!
On our drive south, I got a slightly frantic call from April saying that they had arrived to Red Rocks and there was a show...... Ohhhhhhh, NOOO! As it turned out, there was a concert that evening and everyone in the Greater Denver area and a few people from Nebraska were fighting to enter the park. We finally got parked, met Joe, and got started. Joe did so well, considering he's an indoor cat and 20.... YES, 20 years old. We got a few sweet moments between him and his fur parents, a few frames they will cherish forever.
We enjoyed the evening exploring around Red Rocks and creating memories. These two are fun together and enjoy many of the same things that Brian and I do: trying new breweries, enjoying eating out, and of course seeing Colorado.
