Cassidy and Jeff joke that they met the old-fashioned way, on the app Tinder. Which is only half true; they did meet on a dating app but it was The League! After their first date at a local Evergreen bar, they immediately realized quickly that their values and priorities were aligned. They shared a connection for family and fun and began to build a strong relationship.
While Cassidy and Jeff were enjoying a trip to Costa Rica, Jeff had rented a catamaran off the coast of Playa Flamingo for a family day trip. That morning, he told Cassidy that their family bailed at the last minute and it would just be the two of them for the day. They sailed, snorkeled, and had an incredible day. As the sun began to set, their favorite song came on and suddenly Jeff asked Cassidy if she'd do life with him forever. Her response? "F*ck yes!"
These two chose the Boulders at Black Canyon Inn in Estes Park, Colorado as the perfect backdrop for their big day for it's simple beauty and easy views of the surrounded mountains. One of my favorite parts of this venue is the incredible feeling of being close to the outdoors while still being indoors. This is especially handy for summer weddings in the mountains, as afternoon storms are a regular occurrence. The timeless details and feel of the Boulders venue allows each couple to decorate and make the space very unique for their celebration.
Cassidy and Jeff's wedding day arrived sunny and warm with dramatic clouds billowing over the peaks. The forecast leading up to their day predicted a sunny day, but this monsoony season has lead to many rainy afternoons. We packed our clear umbrellas and crossed fingers. The party had already begun as I walked into the bridal prep suite. Cassidy was all smiles as the music jammed and the mimosas poured. Jeff got dressed with his guys and sons, and were soon pulling a few shenanigans for group photos (scroll down to see!).
These two chose a vibrant mix of orange, pink, and teal for wedding colors bringing to life a tropical sunset. They incorporated geodes and textures into their décor. Their ceremony was filled with vows and exchanging of rings, a family sand ceremony, and passionate first kiss! After family pictures, we headed down to meet their wedding party at the lake for photos. In the meantime, an angry-looking storm had cropped up. We rushed to get group photos as lightning stuck several nearby locations. With cracks of thunder in the air, we ran for the cover of the pavilion. These two and their wedding party were in full on party mode! What a crew and fun time! Soon the reception began and the real party got rocking. Dancing late into the night, these two were surrounded by a fierce tribe of people. When I think back on their wedding, I can't help but smile. This couple was FIRE.
When asked what their favorite wedding memory is, they replied: "Standing up at the altar with the beauty of nature beside us, our community and loved ones around of us while standing face to face with each other. And the party we had after the party!"
Congratulations, you two! I wish you a lifetime of family building and exploring the world!
The couple's biggest wedding planning advice: "Figure out what is most important and develop a set of wedding outcome values that matter most. Then focus on finalizing the big pieces. Once the foundation is down, dive into the details! Oh and most importantly, work with vendors that you really vibe with, that understand what's most important to you. These are the people that are there the day of and really execute your vision from start to finish!"
